i LOVE this chair from Anthropologie.. i can just imagine myself sitting in this on my deck swaying back and forth gently with the breeze sipping on a cold glass of iced green tea, listening to the birds sing...... and then my 2 boys start climbing on me fighting for a spot, kicking me off and asking me to push them... ok, daydream over.

JJ's 5th Birthday

My son just recently celebrated his 5th birthday...

and boy oh boy did we celebrate!

I decided to have 2 parties... one for his classmates (all 14 of them) and one for family and friends.. even though it was a hot & humid weekend, all was a success!

Of course my favorite part is always the decorating, but trying to do it on some sort of budget can be a challenge.. so what better place to go on a budget? Target!!

I got these cute polkadot plates & star buckets from Targets dollar section...

the kids had fun using them to munch on cupcakes, popcorn and goldfish.. yum!

Cupcake stand and candles also from Target..

I put 3 cupcake wrappers on each cupcake to make them more colorful,

it definitely worked, don't ya think?

The cake was from rivierabakehouse ,

not so much on budget but oh so awesome AND DELISH!!

The favors... a water bottle and pail also from Target.

I printed the name tags myself..

I found some adorable and "free" fonts from Fonts For Peas

later on i added silly bandz to each favor, the kids loved them :)

Target also had these really colorful and super cute mini fans,

so, I bought a bunch of them....

I made this banner out of cardstock and ribbon..

so easy to do!

And my fav, and I think everybody else's..

My little bit of sugar with my coffee this morning...

feelin' hot, hot, hot....

Well, since the weather is hazy, hot & humid today, this day for the most part was spent indoors.. and that means 2 little monkeys jumping on the bed!! So i decided to make it fun for them and me... and what spells indoor fun more than a F.O.R.T!! Santa brought us this really cool fort set for x-mas and we are now finally using it...

my first blog...

Hey out there... since this is my first blog I'll tell you a little bit about myself.. I am 34 years old, a mother of 2 boys, 5 & 21 months and I have been married for 5 years. I live in the suburbs of New York and since I am a stay at home mom, I see and hear a lot about my friends' kids, their ups and downs, their newborns and toddlers growing up & us getting old. the endless parties we are always going to and also throwing ourselves, what we like & what we don't.. we give advice to each other and feed off of each others ideas... so i thought a blog would be a good place to put all of my own ideas and experiences and share them with all of you...but don't worry, it's not always about the kids..... i hope you enjoy :)
